FPSRA SCHOLARSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND

The FPSRA Scholarship and Professional Development Fund, established in 2022, provides financial assistance to current Florida Park Service employees, Florida Park Service Ranger Association members, and their legal dependents. The fund supports two categories: Professional Development and Educational Scholarships.

Educational Scholarships support post-secondary education and prioritize studies in parks, recreation, or natural resources. Eligibility extends to FPSRA members, DEP-Division of Recreation and Parks employees, and their legal dependents. Awards of up to $1,000 are based on GPA, recommendations, work experience, and extracurriculars. Only one scholarship is awarded per person per year. Applications are accepted from January 1 to March 1 and reviewed competitively by the Committee. Final decisions are announced at the FPSRA Annual Meeting in April.

APPLICATION

Professional Development Grants are available year-round and are limited to active full-time DEP-Division of Recreation and Parks employees who have completed probation. Grants, up to $500, can cover expenses like tuition, books, certification fees, and travel. Applicants may receive only one grant per year, and awards are either reimbursed or paid directly to vendors.

APPLICATION

All applications use a standard form and follow a formal review process involving the FPSRA President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Scholarship Committee to ensure transparency, timely delivery, and proper documentation.
